Norges Handels-og Sjofartstidende, Oslo (1973-76):  Editor of a regular page of Scandinavian commercial and political news in English.

Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oslo (1973-75): Responsible for the Foreign Ministry's daily English-language summary of domestic political, economic and other news as reported in the Oslo press.

Norinform (Norwegian Information Service) (1974-76):  Deputy editor of this semi-official news agency.

The Times (Jan-Feb 1975):  Acting correspondent.

Northern Offshore (1977-78):  Freelance correspondent for this Oslo-based journal, writing on British and Swedish oil matters.

The Oilman (1977-88):  Scandinavian specialist on this weekly trade paper for the north European oil industry.  Part-time from September 1979.

Offshore (1988-92):  Freelance contributor to this magazine, making substantial contributions on the Scandinavian offshore sector.

Norwegian Trade Council (formerly Export Council of Norway) (1977-91):  Informal freelance assignments and Editor of Norway News Digest.

Det norske Veritas, Oslo (1981-82):  Engaged on a freelance basis by this Norwegian ship classification and research organisation to write press material about the organisation's wide ranging activities in the shipping, offshore and industrial fields.

Veritec (1989-93):  Editor of Veritec Journal and contributor of quarterly article based on Veritec work to Veritas Forum magazine.

Lloyd's List (1978-92):  Regular contributor on Norway and Scandinavia for this shipping paper.

Have also contributed freelance articles, mainly on Norwegian and Scandinavian topics, to, for example, the Financial Times, The Guardian, The Banker, North Sea Letter (FT), Norwegian Shipping News, The Engineer, The Shipbroker, The Yorkshire Post, Chemical Age.
